उत्तराखंड में कल से विभिन्न इलाकों में भारी बारिश और बर्फबारी हो रही है। मौसम ने अचानक करवट ली है और ठंड काफी बढ़ गई है। मौसम विभाग ने राज्य के नौ जिलों में भारी बारिश और बर्फबारी का अलर्ट जारी किया था। मौसम विभाग की भविष्यवाणी सही निकली है। ऐसे में 14 फरवरी को चुनाव कराने के चुनाव आयोग के फैसले पर सवाल उठ रहे हैं। क्योंकि भारी बारिश और बर्फबारी के चलते उम्मीदवारों के लिए लोगों तक पहुंचना मुश्किल हो गया है।
कोविड प्रोटोकॉल की पाबंदियों के बाद अब मौसम का मिजाज बिगड़ने से चुनाव अभियान की राह मुश्किल हो गई है। आमतौर पर उत्तराखंड के पर्वतीय इलाकों में फरवरी के महीने में बर्फबारी होती है। लेकिन इस साल ज्यादा बर्फबारी हो रही है जिसके कारण कई जगह रास्ते बंद हो गए हैं। बारिश-बर्फबारी के कारण 62 से ज्यादा सड़कों पर यातायात ठप हो गया है। प्रदेश भर में 15 पोलिंग पार्टियां बर्फबारी में फंस गई जिन्हें गंतव्य तक पहुंचाने में खासी मशक्कत करनी पड़ी।
उत्तराखंड के चकराता, मसूरी, नैनीताल सहित कई इलाकों में भारी बारिश के साथ ओलावृष्टि भी हुई। इससे पर्वतीय क्षेत्रों में भूस्खलन का खतरा बढ़ गया है और आवाजाही मुश्किल हो गई है। एसडीआरएफ की टीमों को राहत-बचाव के मद्देनजर तैनात किया गया है। पीडब्ल्यूडी सड़कों से बर्फ हटाकर रास्ते खुलवाने में जुटा है।
कल से लगातार बारिश और बर्फबारी के कारण उत्तराखंड के ऊंचाई वाले इलाकों में जनजीवन ठप हो गया है। रात के समय ऊंचाई वाले इलाकों में तापमान शून्य के आसपास पहुंच गया। भाकपा-माले के नेता और कर्णप्रयाग से वाम मोर्चा के उम्मीदवार इंद्रेश मैखुरी ने ट्वीट कर ऐसे मौसम में चुनाव कराने के फैसले पर सवाल उठाया है।
देहरादून के जिलाधिकारी डाॅ. आर. राजेश कुमार ने मौसम विभाग द्वारा जारी चेतावनी के दृष्टिगत ऊंचाई वाले क्षेत्रों विशेषकर मसूरी व चकराता जहां पर बर्फबारी होने की सम्भावना है, लोगों से अपने लिए खाद्य सामग्री और दैनिक उपयोग के सामानों को संरक्षित करने का अनुरोध किया है।
कुमाऊं मंडल के कमिश्नर दीपक रावत ने भी लोगों को अलर्ट किया। उन्होंने एक वीडियो जारी करते हुए कहा कि भारी हिमपात और बरसात के चलते मार्ग अवरुध हो सकते है इसलिए अपने घरों में राशन की व्यवस्था कर लें। बर्फबारी की वजह से कर्णप्रयाग-नैनीताल हाईवे दिवालीखाल क्षेत्र में दस किमी तक बंद हो गया जबकि त्यूणी-चकराता, चकराता-लाखामंडल मार्ग बंद से स्थानीय लोगों को मुश्किलें उठानी पड़ीं। सीमावर्ती इलाकों में रास्ते खुलवाने में बीआरओ को काफी मशक्कत करनी पड़ रही है।
